Writing a novel had been on my bucket list for a very long time. When the right moment finally presented itself, I seized the opportunity to bring my first book to life. I grew up in Bronaugh, Missouri—that was home. I know those gravel roads, the close-knit families, and the unique rhythms of a small town where everyone knows everyone and half the community is related. That deep familiarity inspired my debut novel, It’s Pronounced Bro-Naw, creating a setting that feels living, breathing, and unmistakably genuine.

Readers often ask if Vernon County Sheriff Billy Workman is based on me. The truth is, Billy is an entirely fictional creation drawn from several different law enforcement officers I have known over the years. Rather than being modeled after a single individual, Billy is a composite of authentic dedicated lawmen, bringing together their dedication, instincts, and quiet grit as he navigates complex investigations in small-town Missouri.
Life beyond the keyboard
When I am not plotting murder mysteries or writing the next chapter in Billy Workman's investigations, I stay busy with the passions that keep me energized. Living in Pensacola, Florida, I love spending time at the beach and heading out on the water for some boating. I am also an avid fan of cruise ships, live music concerts, good food, and researching ancestry. When I am closer to home, you will often find me coaching volleyball or enjoying quality time with family.
